Hi, I am Dongwei Liu (劉棟瑋) 👋, a Postdoc Researcher at UC Berkeley. My research connects urban planning, computer vision, and environmental health. Using street view imagery, photorealistic 3D city models, and multi-source urban data, I measure the lived urban environment and investigate its relationships with human health and behavior.
I develop tools to measure urban greenery, biodiversity, human activity, and environmental exposure, with the goal of informing healthier, greener, and more livable cities.
I currently work at 3M Lab, collaborating with Prof. Lu Liang. I obtained my PhD from HUB lab at City University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Yi Lu, and my master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the National University of Singapore and Southeast University, respectively. I previously worked at the Centre for China Urban and Regional Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University, collaborating with Prof. Donggen Wang, and at the Centre for Liveable Cities within the Ministry of National Development (Singapore).
